Surgical templates are a modern solution to support the dentist's work during implant placement. The combination of the dentist's experience, knowledge and skills with the innovative method means that the implant procedure is carried out in a time-saving and less painful manner than the standard way.
The templates are made of polymer resin, so we can restore chewing function and improve the aesthetics of the smile.
Advantages of using polymer surgical templates:
With the use of surgical templates, we adapt the implant to the patient's mandible and jaw.
The undoubted advantage of using surgical templates is that there is no additional interference with the bone. The dentist, in order to graft the implant, makes a minimal incision in the gum and, thanks to a computerised impression, the recess is made according to the designated angle.
REDUCED TREATMENT TIME
Once the implant is placed, the patient can have a temporary crown fitted the same day and enjoy a beautiful smile.
FAST RECOVERY TIME
The lack of use of a traditional scalpel enables faster wound healing and a return to daily function.
What is the process of using a surgical template?
We are one of the few dental clinics in Poland to use the 3Shape Implant Studio programme to create
an implant template design.
The first step of the procedure is to take an impression of the patient's mouth, using a scanner and a tomograph. Based on the results, we develop a treatment plan, select the type and size of the grafts, determine the types of drill and the depth of the drill insertion.
The second step involves making a personalised surgical template. When the template design is ready we send it to the 3D printer our clinic is equipped with. In a draughtu kilku godzin tworzymy indywidualny szablon dla Pacjenta.
During the next visit we carry out the procedure on the patient, which starts with the placement of the template in the mouth and the drilling of the bone through the holes in the template.
The fit is immediate, as the template conforms to the shape of the mouth. Once the implant is placed, we can immediately place a specially prepared temporary prosthetic crown and the patient can enjoy their new smile.
