Digital Dental Prosthetics:
Dental prosthetics is aimed at restoring the original occlusal conditions after the previous loss or extensive damage to teeth.
The use of an intraoral scanner, such as 3Shape, allows us to obtain a digital image of the patient's teeth, select the appropriate color, and determine individual occlusal conditions for the preparation of a prosthetic crown. After designing the crown, the project is sent to a milling machine, which cuts the ceramic crown.
Types of Prosthetic Crowns at B2 Dental Clinic:
The core of the crown is made of zirconium oxide, which is highly durable and naturally white. Additionally, zirconium oxide is biocompatible and does not cause any allergies.
These crowns consist of a metal framework covered entirely with porcelain. This provides a good aesthetic effect while maintaining optimal treatment costs.
Acrylic crowns, also known as temporary crowns, are used to protect the tooth stump and provide comfort to the patient until the final crown is cemented. Acrylic crowns are only used as a temporary element in the prosthetic treatment cycle.
Advantages of Zirconium Oxide Crowns:
- Excellent aesthetics
- Complete biocompatibility with surrounding tissues
- Wear resistance comparable to natural teeth
- Do not interfere with tests such as resonance or tomography because they do not contain metal
Advantages of Porcelain-Fused-to-Metal Crowns:
- Good aesthetics
- Restoration of lost tooth structure
- Reinforcement of the remaining tooth structure
- Good sealing
- Durability and mechanical strength
- Moderate price
